Satelite Radio

I was thinking about getting satellite radio this summer and was wondering if anybody had it, why you chose either Surius or XM over the other, and if there were any pictures of what people did with it on a coupe. I would like to see how the atenna would look.

I've heard that Sirus may go under before it even starts, so XM is the way to go. The antenna is WAY ugly. It also depend on the HU that you have...HU companies usually have affiliations with one or the other. Me personally, I just can't justify paying a monthly fee for radio stations.

I just have a thing for digital sound quality. The radio is good, but the quality sucks. My 140+ CDs are good, but at times I want something else that I don't already have. So those are the reasons for wanting satelite radio. As with Sirus... I might see why they might go under... all of their channels are commercial free, so they won't have the money coming in. I currently have the stock HU, so I plan on upgrading that as well this summer if I actually do get some satelite subscription.

While I dont personally have either, all of the salesman at my store do have it and they absolutly LOVE it and feel its well worth the small cost - i really dont think they would lie to me about it, because they wouldnt make any money from me buying it. While Sirius is completly commercial free, it is $3 more a month, and many of XM's channels are commercial free too. But, to me, XM is the way to go mostly because better brands have compatable tuners - alpine and pioneer support XM, while only kenwood and Panasonic support Sirius. As for the antenna, most of the people i know have it on their rear deck inside the car and have no problems.

I have XM and wouldn't trade it for the world. It is not completely commercial free but there aren't alot of commercials. Quality is great, programming is great, and teh support is great. Check out the many antenna options though, I use the through the glass antenna on the back window, looks good to me. The roof top antenna is a pain because somehow you need to feed the wire through to teh inside, eitehr by drilling or wrapping under teh rubber seal of teh window. Check out your civic's back window next time the molding is part of the window.
XM also has the most powerful commercial satellites ever launched, go for it.
