Air Flap in Trunk

whats the best way to quiet the air flap in the trunk on the left side. If you have a loud system, you'll know what I'm talking about. The air the sub is pushing makes this thing go nuts and its loud. Whats the best way of taking care of the problem. Maybe duct tape on the front of it, or what happens if you just take the flap out?

that flaps there for proper air transfer so you don't slowly suffocate..I replaced my flap with a small section of an air filter and hot glued it down..
