I would suggest getting an Alpine headunit, I have a 7893, and it is awesome....has timing correction so you can properly balance the timing for all the speakers....it's different than a balance and fader control, this actualy lets you set a delay in miliseconds to make it sound right. I also have a JL Audio 500/1 amp running to two JL Audio 12W3v2's, which is an awesome sub/amp combo. My car won first place in a SPL comp for my class (stock, 600 watts and below) with a dB rating of 144.2 I will soon be adding another 500/1 for even louder/tighter bass.

Also, if you (or anyone else) is intrested i'm selling two sets of Sony MobileES 5 1/4 component speakers, two sets of BostonAcoustics RX57 5 1/4 coaxial speakers with ferrofluid cooled tweets, one set of Alpine 4x6 speakers, and one PPI PC250 amplifier (2 channel amp, 50watts per channel @4ohm, 100watts per channel @2ohm, or 300 watts bridged @4ohm) E-mail me at Mystic3030@aol.com if anyone's intrested.

Peace

Mystic 3030, did you change your speakers, or are they stock, sounds like a setup I would like to get, if you don't mind, how much did it cost all together.

My speakers are one of the sets of Sony MobileES that I listed, and they are being run by the PPI PC250. I am upgrading to MBQuart PSD 216's (6 1/2 2-way speakers) and a PPI PCX480 (bi-wiring the amp so there is a seperate channel for each tweet and mid range) Over the past two years i've spent approx $5,000 on stereo stuff for my car. (I had a Jeep Wrangler before my civic) The 12W3v2's retail for $225 each, the JL 500/1 is about $550-$600 depending on where you go, my headunit was $400, box for subs is $250, my whole car is dynamatted and TACmatted, I also have Phoenix Gold 0-Gugage wiring, and all phoenix RCA's and speaker cable. The speaker cable is like $1.50 a foot, 0-Guage is about $6.00 a foot (you need around 20 feet for our cars). I also have a Phoenix 1 farad capictor, that was around $150. Estimated value of everything in my car right now is about $4k (A lot of labor charges, I just started doing stuff on my own about 4 months ago) for a pretty good system, you can expect to spend around $3k to get yourself started.

I never said I paid retail for them I had the original W3, which I paid $110 for, and my local shop upgraded me for $20 a sub. If you find the right shop you can negotiate with them; most car audio is marked up 45-50%.
