you have to remove the whole back panel to get them speakers out...also make sure you have the rite mounting depth cuz most 6X9's don't fit due to the trunk springs. go check the DIY section. lots of help over there

Yes, but if you read that thread, Crashoveride's speakers had 1/8" clearance and still wouldn't fit. It's awfully tight with that trunk spring installed. I recommend you get 6.5" speakers or components for the rear, or get shallow-mount 6x9s. If you're going to use a subwoofer in the trunk, you don't really need anything bigger than 6.5's back there anyway.

If you want to get an idea of how many 6x9s will fit, go to Crutchfield.com and put in your car info and look for 6x9s for the rear. They have 37 models of 6x9s, but only 3 are listed to fit without problems: Bazooka M690, Infinity Kappa 692.5i, and Kicker 02K69.

Or you could always install a truck shock, instead of the factory springs.
Edit: Here's the link to Grey's DIY trunk shocks.

Make sure that you take out the back seats and the side back panels first (remember to take off the seatbelt bolts at the bottom too!)...it is possible to take out the back panel with just taking off the back side panels on one side, but I would do it the long way your fist time. I have done it with just taking off one side and it is less time consuming, but can be harder if you don't know what you are doing.

Yeah, dru106 seems intent on making my DIY look bad. Anyway, the original was archived, but I found it here.
FYI, these are the instructions that came from Crutchfield when I got my speakers there, so they've got good detail. I simply added some pics to show some of the hard to find parts.
