Box space

I have a dual 12" box with 1.0 cubic feet each.
I also have 2 Pioneer subs (300w/600w) powered by a RF 500X bridged to 250x2 @4ohm.
Pioneer recommends 1.2 cubic inches.
How would the smaller air space affect the sound and the performance of the subs?
With the current setup, sound pounds and rattles the car but doesnt kill your ears.

youve increased the power handling, but decreased the lower end output

you may want to try stuffing the box with polyfill. see if that changes the sound.

Polyfill should definatly help you out. It makes the sub think that the box is bigger. It probably still wont kill your ears like you want but you might gain a little bit.
