Alpine or Pioneer?

Im in the market for a new HU, as my old one got JACKED! (pioneer deh 3400) anyway im looking to spend around 300 bucks. I tested th alpine and pioneer side by side, and pioneer does sound cleaner by a bit. What do you guys say? Either the Alpine CDA7893 (EXTREMELY NICE LOOKING AND NICE SOUNDING UNIT) or the Pioneer DEH6400? Thanks for your opinions.

I don't know how you could possibly think a pioneer unit sounds cleaner than alpine. I'm baffled. Anyhow, it's all about your ears and what YOUR ears like to hear. If you think the pioneer sounds better then I would get it. I have the 7894 and am very happy outside of the display.

Even though it hurts to do it, I would recommend the pioneer if the display is easily seen during the day. For SQ though, alpine would be my choice.

Clarion!!!..Cheaper..better DAC's, and a higher s/n ratio and lower impedance outputs...

If you want to spend a little more... Eclipse 5442 or up.. Cleanest outputs bar none...no line driver needed
