Custom Box Near Spare

Hey, I did some searching but couldnt find what I was looking for. I know that Coupes can relocate their spare underneath, but I have a Sedan so I cant, and dont really want to actually. However, I'm still looking to add 2 Subs nearby the bottom open area.

I'm not trying to run 12" like most people, if I can fit 2 10" subs or even 2 8" subs, I think I'd be fine...not trying to anny neighbors. I'm not looking to place an amp there, just the custom sub box(es).

Sorry for the ghetto pic, but I want to know if I could fit to subs in the areas shown.

Thanx for any help, and feel free to ask questions if something isnt clear.

I did that, I build a regular box and only had the airspace for one 8" You might be able to get a ported 8 or two 6" subs

Here's a pic i just took. The top of the box sits fluch with the stock trunk floor. I just cut a hole with a jigsaw out of the stock fiberboard for the sub. also, if you look closely, i moved the spare back a couple inches by bolting it to one of the holds instead of teh middle. That allowed me to get a little more airspace.

Cool thanx. I think my trunk is shaped a bit different down there. I'll have to check again. It might be because I have a sedan. Also, does the sub box have to be rectangular? Can it be triangular as long as it fits the sub? And lastly, what's a "ported" sub? Thanx agan.

It doesn't have to be regtangular, it was my first sub and wanted to make it out of wood and that was the easiest way. You could easily fiberglass it for a lighter bigger enclosure. I have a sedan as well. a ported box is one that has a hole in it for air to come out. it's tuned for more spl, but it doesn't sound as clean as a sealed box i believe
