Question on embossing

How is that awesome embossing done like on trunk lids? I've seen some installs
where the inside of the trunk lid is covered in vinyl or something similar and their
team insignia is like embossed or impressed into the material. It looks 2d sort of.
Anywho, I was just wondering.

The easiest way to do it on a trunk lid or something similar would be to cut your design out of foam board from a arts and craft store/ staples / officemax...etc. and glue it to the medite / MDF / fiberglass creation. Once glued in place cover with ample amounts of adhesive around all edges and surfaces. Wait until tacky and cover with vinyl or carpet. Make sure to smooth out all bumps and press hard around edges of design to create sharp edges that will stand out showing your design. Well that's how I do it, feel free to email me if you have any questions.
