ok i heard that the headunit affects the sound and the speakers and amps are just added in. is it true? cause i got a sony headunit and my friend told me they sounded sucks, but i thought speakers and amps is wat makes the differences

Every component in your sound system affects sound. But sound starts at the HU...if your HU sounds bad...no matter what you get for everything else..you'll still sending a bad signal

actually the sound of that unit is fairly decent, just the basic sony stuff kind of blows.

i've noticed i dont get much bass with stock speakers with my kenwood compared to stock deck. but then i guess a crossover could fix that

best way to go is to avoid getting a HU with internal amps,.. they create a lot of heat & increased noise. I have the clarion pro-audio HX-D10. it has no Internal amps what so ever. they use better DAC's also. so I have to run a seperate 4-channel power amp to power my speakers. the sound is so crisp & clear even with my stock speakers.
very few companys offer HU without internal amps though.
