Transistor
I just bout a neon light for the inside of my car. It's a OPTX 12" neon. For some reason I can't get this stupid thing to work. It came with a transistor so that you can plug it into the cigarette lighter. However, the transistor has printed on it "Input: 12V 210mA" Aren't cars set to 12V 10A? Am I doing something wrong or is this like just messed up?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Both are 12V so thats fine for voltage.
The currents are more of what it uses.
The car CAN output 10A worth of current, but the tube only uses 0.2A worth of it.
Technically you could hook up about 50 tubes (0.2A*50=10A).

I figued out what was wrong. Apparently the ports in my civic are a different size... I tried it in a CR-V and a Camry and it worked in both. In those cars, the adapter went all the way into the port, but in my car it didn't. I spliced up the wires last night and tried it again in my car. It worked! Unfortunately, I wasn't paying attention and I blew the fuse... How much are those fuses? Are they generic, or do I have to get them from honda??? Thanks
