I just got my new SI and i have a technical question
Hey everybody,
I just got my car this morning and you all know how does it feel the first day.
Anyways its a 2002 SI fully loaded but i didn't add cd changer or tape because i have a Creative nomad juckbox with 20G music so i really don't need a cd player and i don't like the quality with this adaptors for tape so basically i don't want to add any deck or amp but i want to know if any of you know if there is a RCA input at the back of the factory deck and if not what are my options. Oh, by the way i have an extra cable for the back of it i mean the blue 10pin plug.
I would relly appritiate your help.
Thanks.

Theres no RCA output (pre-amp out-put) on stock HU. As far as I know you cant add any accessories. The ten pins you've seen at the back are just fr the dashboard/instrument panel lights, you know when you unlock your car all the dash and insrument panel lights and starts to blink for a while....so does your HU...Thats the installer from sounds around told me when I had my HU changed. I suggest, get a new HU, but when you buy a mounting kit, try to look for the ones you can keep your indash storage box, coz some of them just comes open...But its really up to you, i guess....

the oem deck seems to be made by alpine...
i'm hoping we can add a alpine changer...i know it worked with 6th gen civics...
as far as i know, there are no line ins though....i prefer keeping the oem deck cause it looks cleaner than any of the nice aftermarket ones...

best bet is an aftermarket with RCA ins.
when we got a customer in my shop with teh same desire, we dicided his best option was a nakamichi 45z. they are reasonably priced online, and both the tape player and cd player come with auxiliary inputs. its a fantastic radio and you wold definitely be happy with it, and even looks stock, as to deter form thieves. highly reccommended. only the 45 series model comes with aux inputs
