ohm confusion

when you look to buy an amp/subs, you run into mainly either 2ohm or 4ohm. i have scatterd knowledge, so i know less ohms is less resistance. amps push about double the watts at 2ohms, so its cheaper t buy 2ohm system. but what would be the advantages of 4ohm system or 2ohm.

well 95% of all speakers are 4ohm..at 4ohms the amplifier puts out a less distorted signal, has better stereo seperation, better damping. And generally anything more than 50 Wrms is just headroom anyhow.
