A good low cost sub is the Adire audio Shiva, which you can buy from the Adire website or ampman.com

Okay..the Type R's were a good choice. You just had them in the wrong enclpsure. There are so many good sounding subs out there. More than you can shake a stick at. All will sound bad in a box that's too small. or ported and tuned wrong....if you want great sounding bass and don't care much if it will rattle your car, Boston Rally series subs are pretty good for that...as far as small box subs go. You have a billion options dude..

What's your price range...and how much power will you be feeding the subs/

Sorry to inturrupt your thread, but it seems to be a goo place to ask my question:

I know you like the Cerwin vega HEDs, and for the cost, i'm thinking about picking one up. I have 150 watts RMS to play with (4 ohms), 300 max. I listen to mostly Trance and Techno, plus a little rock. I'll be making my enclosure probably as per Winisd. I like making dem boxes Do you think that the HEDs would be a good choice? Do you think that i'd want a 10 or 12 incher? I'm running on a ported JL 8w3 right now.. so it won't be too difficult to top. What type of enclosure to the HEDs like? Thanks for all your help!!

Is there one you would reccommend over the other for any reason?

The Elemental Designs K series is more than double the price of the HEDs or the Comp. Thanks for the reply!
