Alarm light??

Hey everybody,
I'm new here... I have a 2002 civic DX 4dr, my question is how to install led light that goes on when the car is turned off. I had this led light installed in a 1995 Accord, it was hooked up to the fuse box, the wires end look like the end to speaker wire ends, (there is two wires, + & -).

THANKZ A LOT!!

do you actually want it hooked up to an alarm, or do you just want a dummy light

well you have a few options.. many actually...

You can wire the LED directly to the power on the fuse box and ground it and wire it to a switch so you can turn it on and off when you want. You can buy an alarm system ..

that would be tricky...it's easier just to wire it to a switch..you'd need a relay.. a battery..and some other goodies to do what you want

if you want to make one yourself (even though it seems that you have no clue (not flaming or anything)) then you'll need an LED, a capacitor 470uF, a couple of resistors 1Kohm and a schmitt trigger inverter, a 7805 regulator and a NPN transistor...

or better yet go buy that kind of led at radioshack for a couple of bucks so all you need to do is hook it up to +12v and GND...and voila you have a dummy light but in this case you'll need a switch or if you're electonically minded...use an NPN transistor so it will only work when the engine is off....nah..thats too hard....just connect it to +12V and the accessory wire...

wouldn't it be easiest o just have a light that's always on? there's no real difference in practicality.
