People hate Pyle because it's a new brand.... If it's something they haven't heard of, most ppl tend to think bad of it.
I've used Pyle before. I've found nothing wrong with it.

I was at AudioVideo a couple of days ago and saw pyle LCD's on display playing Dumb and Dumber. Quality is pretty good and seems like something reasonable. I prefer Pioneer though all the way!! Pyle has been around for a while.

ok, i've decided to order the PYLE flip out LCD. i'll post pics and a review of it when i get it and install it. i;m hooking up my PS2 to it too. can't wait. for 200 bucks i don't have much to lose.
From what I see there are just a few companies that make the actual lcds. The more bells and whistles you get the more you pay. I prefer the non-motoried din lcd myself ...less to break. Actaully Pyle has been around at least 10 years. Bought some pyle subs back in the day they held up pretty good until my brother pawned them.... Check ebay there is a guy sell some refurbs with a two year warrenty for $200 dutch.

You people are funny. Here is low down on how pyle, and other imitaion companies work with products. LCD screens, the actual screen is manufactured in Japan by Sharp Electronics, or something similar to it. These companies sell their NEW screens to companies like alpine, eclipse, kenwood, pioneer, etc. When ever someones nice screen breaks, they send it back to the manufacturer. Alpine, pioneer, whatever sends that screen back to Sharp for refurbishing. After Sharp fixes the screens, kind of fixes, they sell at a cheaper price. Here is were Pyle comes in, they buy the screens, but new "pyle" look casing around the screen and can legally cal it new. Pyle does this with almost all of their products. If you ever look, or deem to find out. Take apart any Pyle, Emerson, etc crappy brands products, and check with the original manufactureres how old/condition the parts are. I took a Pyle LCD apart, and found out the monitor was 4 years old, even though Pyle said it was a brand new TV. Not only are these screens refurbed, but I was told that to fix screens, lines of resolution need to be taken away, and reused for spaces that are burned out, giving you at most VCR quality.

Well, I started in with the whole I.C.E. thing back in the day (ya know, back in the day like 1999!), anyways, back in 99 pyle released a non-motorized in-dash flip out LCD panel with an FM Tuner and TV Tuner built in, it was Pyle model# PLTV5N. I purchased it brand new for about $350, which was well below retail at the time. For a 5" screen head unit, with pan AND tilt, and a TV tuner built in, it was really a good deal. The screen's viewing angle wasn't as good as I would have liked it, however the in-dash unit had a pan feature so you could angle it at the driver/passenger better if you liked, which is a feature I wish my current H/U has.
I now have a Clarion VRX-815, 7" wide, motorized in-dash touch screen. I love it, the viewing angle, color, screen ratio, picture quality, it's all great. With a little research, luck, and good judgement/common sense, you could spend a lot less money than I did and have a quality system.
I give the Pyle in-dash units a thumbs up
, for value and bang for buck, however you do get what you pay for. I say, good job... I never had problems with mine, however the pyle's are somewhat vulnerable to electrical noise/ignition noise... get a really good set of sheilded RCA cables and wrap your speaker wires on the harness around a turoid core magnet and you will avoid nearly 100% of that interference.
I've owned alot of LCD's, I started with a 4" mounted to the dash of my Lumina Z34 in 1998, and every vehicle I've owned has had an A/V entertainment system of some kind at one point or another since then. I've never been screwed by anybody yet, and if you are looking for cool/cheap/weird in-car A/V equipment, check out theses sites.
