Kicker comp vr ?'s

I have an xtant 3001 amp. i went to a shop yesterday and said that i could power two 10 inch kicker comp vr's wired to 2 ohms. that means my amp would be pushing 300 watts. Is this enough pwer for this speaker. I have one 10 ich jl w3 and i want more bass. is this a good idea or would it sound about the same becasue ythe kickers are not getting as much power as they should be. thanks

Assuming that you were running the JL with 300 watts (as opposed to the 150W @ 4 ohms), then you should notice about a 3dB increase thanks to the doubling of the cone area (2 10" drivers v. 1 10" driver). That increase should be fairly noticeable at listening levels below 140dB and depending on how the box is constructed (i.e. ported, sealed, bandpass), you may even get a better result.

Have fun!

you can only say its a 3 db increase if you provide the identical driver for the doubling.... when you start talking about switching to different drivers, you really can't say that it will be a 3 db increase because a jl 10w3 with 150 rms to it will not put out the same amount of db's as a kicker comp vr with 150 rms to it, and neither of those will have the same output as a super pro brand 10... i used to have 6 super pro 12's in my old chevy (they were free) with 1000 rms divided between all 6, and in my current setup with 2 audiobahn 12's and 400 rms, i get a higher volume...
