1st off do you have a coupe or a sedan?
coupe:
front - 6.5
rear - 6x9

sedan: 6.5 all around

2ndly I would recommend getting components for the front..... better sound quality and better sound quality is good
If you have a coupe you can't use those in the rear so get some 6x9's. If you have a sedan those would be pretty good for yer rear deck

Those 6.5inch Kappas are good speakers. I had them in my old celica. However, I would probably go with some sort of component set (replaces the tweeters and the mids) because in general they will sound better, and the stock tweeters are not up to standard. How about the Infinity Reference component set? It sounds like it would be in your price range, and, in my opinion, would give you a better sound by balancing out your sound stage (as opposed to just replacing the mids in your doors). I dont think I would want to replace the door speakers to have sound quality taken away by the awfull tweeters in your A-pillars. Get a component set and replace them both. It sounds like you want the best bang for your buck, so I would definitly reccommend the Infinity Reference Component set.

As for the rear speakers. These are 6x9 inches, and you will want to replace them with a coresponding size speaker. You dont have to go all out here because rear speakers are primarily just to provide fill in the rear portion of the cabin; the components up front will be doing 85% of the job. So, I think it would be a nice match to get the Infinity Reference 6x9s in the rear. They have angled tweeters within the cone, and will allow you to pivot them towards the front of your car.....allowing for better imaging (hence, better sound). You will not be dissappointed in the reference line up.

Conclusion: Infinity Reference 6.5in for the front.
Infinity Reference 6x9in for the rear.
Spacers to make them fit (probably no more than 3/4 in)

Additional Note: Ebay is the cheapest place to get your audio stuff. Can easily save hundreds of dollars. Enjoy your sound!

P.S. I am not an Infinity salesman because my car has a mixture of brands in it

Since you mentioned Memphis, I'd suggest the Memphis Belle. You have 75x4 for your front stage and rear fill and 300x1 for the 2 10" subs you mentioned. The JL 500/5 is also an excellent choice. Otherwise, a nice 4-channel and class D amp should do you just fine.

Have fun!

Hrmm. Make sure you have a different head unit because you will need one with at least one set of pre amp outputs to add an additional amplifier.

However, assuming you do in fact have a aftermarket CD player with a set of pre amp outputs, I would go with a 6 channel amp. Kicker makes quality amps, but it is mostly personal preference. The reason I suggest 6 channels is because you will want 4 channels for your speakers (2 for the front and 2 for the rear). Then, since you mentioned having 2 10in subs.....you could use the extra 2 channels to power each sub. It would make a nice clean install, not having amps scattered everywhere. Try looking for something close to 50x4 +200x2......that would produce an excellent sound quality system. Good mids, highs, and bass....

Just my opinions of course. Need anything else, just ask.

(p.s. if money is tight dont forget to factor in installation accessories such as speaker wire and an amp kit)
