installing headunits..(did search)

Is there anyway i can really fackup my electrical system... I instaled headunits on older cars like 98 corolla.. but ive never done one on a new car... I ahv the basic mechanical skills and electrical skills to do this i think... plus a friend would help me out...
I went to the local audio shop and they wanted 40 buck CDN... I would much rather do it myself and save the cash ya know. SO there no way i can mess up my alarm or keyless entry right?

Just do it dude. It isnt that hard. Buy a wire harness, say at Best Buy. give your self plenty of time, dont rush it, cuz you dont wanna have to take that apart again to fix a wire that fell off or something. Just follow the DIY on top of the page, and you should be fine. One piece of advice, you dont have to take out the center console. If there are any prob, refer back to this page, many many people have changed out their stereos. Its probably the easier and best mod to do.

Also, make sure you disconnect your battery. I didn't and i had popped a fuse. It took a while to find which one. Just do that and you should be alright.

Yea... just make sure you buy a wiring harness and splice the wires one-by-one so that you don't connect wrong wires. But even if you did make a mistake, it shouldn't affect your keyless entry or alarm. I'm pretty sure the electrical setup of your stereo has nothing to do with your alarm or keyless entry. Your alarm and keyless entry should be on different fuses and whatnot. Just make sure you connect the right wires together when installing if and you won't have to worry about anything.
