Add on security system

I would like to buy a security system for my car, but most of them are stand alone systems. Since I already have the keyless entry system I don't need the keyless entry. Any one have experience with good ones. I would also like it to be able to have the horn honk (I'm getting one of those 135dB airhorns for that purpose...)

i'm not so worried about the actually car getting stolen (thats what the immobilizer is for...right?) but more people breaking in and stealing stuff (its already happened once and I've only had the car for about 3 months)

Get the Clifford Avantguard 4. You won't be disappointed with it. Though DEI bought out Clifford I think so I dunno if they still make them.

AG4 comes with just about everything you can ask for. Remote start, remote windows, remote trunk, remote lights, motion sensors, immobilizer... the only thing I think the alarm doesn't use is a shock sensor but if you wanted it you could buy it.

The whole Clifford line is pretty good so I would check those out.

hello security is the most important part of our cherish civics. they are the most wanted whip therefore you most take extreme measure to ensure your ride's well being when your not around at night. Think big think hugh when it comes to your security system. Go with Clifford, beyond all else clifford makes the best systems. then tell your installer to install the security brain somewhere other then under the dash, everywhere else. Now depending on how much you want your car to be there in morning is up to you. I got tire boots from awdirect.com that lock on the entire tire. one on each wheel. (looks corny but I sleep easier at night) two i got a club on the wheel and a boot on the brake. do you get my point.

I opinon is simply if we spend so much money hooking up our cars we should take the same measure to protect our whips too!!!
P.S. word to the wise NEVER!!!! blast your stereo within a 10 - 15 block radius of your house. punk theives will follow you too.

that's true I live in the New Jersey area and honda civic car theft is no joke out here. My civic was stolen twice (thank goodness I didn't even start hooking it up yet at the time). At this point I feel confident that my security system is good to go. I got the tire boot, a clifford alarm and I cut off my door poppers. which by the way make it harder for the theft to open the door if he breaks the glass.
