Please Help me with my stereo(sub and amp problems)

I have a X Tant 3001 amp with a JL 10 W3 sub. My question is the sub sounds like sh#t now and this is my 4th jl sub so i know what they are suppossed to sound like. I took it into tweeter ytoday, becasue that is where i bought it from and they said it sounded like one of the wires to the voice coil was loose so they took the sub out of the box and it was off so they put it back on. they installed it and it was sure louder but the bass qaulity was so bad. then they put in a 10w3 v2 in and they said it would be louder but it still spouunded like sh#t so they said my sub wasn't blown. they think its the amp but the amp has been working fine and the problem light isn't even on. what do you guys think. the bass hits and sounds like a constant vibreation instead of clear clean bass, if that makes sense. The bass is still loud but not clean at all. lastly is the 10w3 v2 that much better than my 10 w3. thanks

That's interesting... I would say check your frequency control. You may possibly have the frequency set too high so you would be getting a lot of mid-range sound coming out of your sub which would explain why it's still hitting hard but you're getting a constent vibration.

Hmmm.... are you getting a contant vibration even when music is not playing?

Perhaps is that fact that is only a 10" sub. I have one in a sealed box and it sounds good, but if i wanted loud bass, then forget it. I don't think it has to do with the fact that its a regular 10w3 or a v2. Try something bigger. I also have one twelve in the same type of box, and that is where i get my bass. Use the 10w3 for tight bass, not deep bass. I doubt it the amp like you said. Oh yah single ten inch subs sealed, don't sound all that good in a trunk. Just my opinion with that.

10 inch sealed subs dont sound good in a trunk? go throw in a audiobahn awt10 in your trunk and put 1200 watts to it, or the idmax speakers, and theres pleeenty of other speakers out there that will rock your trunk will a single driver...... im thinking its either the gain too high or the frequency is up too high, but it could even be some sort of interference in the rca's...
