couple of speaker questions??
before anybody gets mad, yes i searched
. ok i think i blew one of my rear 6x9's. so i went out to best buy to check out what kind of prices they have on them. i found a couple of them that looked good (sony xsv6932, and pioneer tsa6975). now i went home to see if i could find them on crutchfield.com and they said that only 3 6x9's fit our car??? i searched on here and couldnt really find anything i understand. but WHAT are spacers and what do they do?
Are there any good speakers (preferably 6x9) that'll fit in my car? under $100
btw i got a 2001 coupe ex with oem spoiler

We have an issue with depth because of the springs in the trunk, as well as tweeter protrusion due to the plastic panel that covers the rear deck. You do have other options but they are limited. Try looking for a 6 1/2" with an adapter to fill the hole. Crutchfields latest catalog shows you this in our cars (2001 Civic Coupe). I think they will even send you the bracket for free. As for the 6 X 9's that they show, here is a link to the Kicker's for $40 less.

Schosche and Metra both have the adapter and they should be available at your local retailer. If not, Crutchfield has one for sure that they send for free with a 6.5" purchase.
Scosche Adapter
As far as sound quality, they are pretty close in bass response, and of cours the tweeters should be the same in both if you are comparing the same line.
