Home Speakers... need help
I have no idea, but i have a thing for Cnet.. so i basically believe anything they say. So, in that case, i like these: http://electronics.cnet.com/electron...ml?tag=rev-rev
For about that price range, I would go with Energy. A little higher end that Klipche in my opinion. They suit my preference too. Energy has better imaging than Klipche. I find the Klipshe are direct, in your face sound. Energy Take System

I run Polk Audio speakers in my house...paid about $3K us for Towers and 3 satellite speakers.. But I also reinforce them with a single car audio sub for that ultra low end response.... nothing like watching U-571 with the depth charge sceen and actually hitting over 115DB's at 17hz lol..
Listen with your ears more..go so some shops.. in most homes with sporadically placed furniture, hardwood floors picture frames on the walls.there's so much resonance that paying huge $$ on speakers that will have their sound greatly affected by their environment could be like throwing money away...

I agree with Ed. I have a Klipsch Synergy KSC-1 Center Speaker, I'm using 4 Quintets for my front and rear speakers, and I have a KSW-12 450Watt Subwoofer with a Harmon Kardon receiver and I absolutely love it. I live in an aparment so I can't exactly blast it all the time, but if you are looking for a smaller setup, I can't recommend the Klipsch any higher. Especially if you are looking at the Bose acoustmass series, the Klipschs are so much better, there are hundreds of reviews of the Klipsch Quintets vs the Bose speakers. I didn't buy the Quintet package because I wanted the better center speaker for when I eventually buy some towers. I paid about $1,400 for them and it was worht every penny. The subwoofer definately fills the room with hard hitting bass.
