Quick box question for W7

ok, right now i have a 10W3 in an everyday JL spec box, and ill be gettin a 10W7. ok,

1. will the w7 fit?, seeing how the mounting procedure is different

2. if it fits will it sound good, or decent? i dont really want that big box JL has out right now, i knkow theyre goona have more but theyll prolly be big too.

3. another thing, im lookin at gettin 2 of them and untill i get the whole thing done i want a temporary box to hold them. if i have a box made that is a JL spec for say 2 12W6's but w/ holes for the 10W7, would that sound ok?

Answer..if your gonna spring the big $$ for a W7 put it in the proper enclosure first!!! Also don't get a JL enclosure..they are way overpriced. Building an enclosure of your own is a fun and easy weekend experience..and saves you alot of $$$ If not get one custom built to your application..it will still be cheaper than a ready made JL box

ok, so basiclly, i look at the spec sheet, come up with a design that will accomodate both subs, and build it to fit in my trunk? ok.

also, do they sound better in a ported or sealed enclosure, im lookin for SQ, over SPL.

how would they sound if they were put facing each other placed behind each wheel well, but angled a little up, and towards the front, cause i know if you put them facing eachother the sound waves will cancel out.

Why would you want 2 dfferent subs in your car.. it will very much hinder sound quality..Just stick with the single 10W7...and feed it a healthy 500+ watts. and have an enclosure build to spec for it

Keep the models together. I believe W6s work best when they are in groups of three. If you put a W3 with a W7 it would sound terrible. A kid at my school had a W6 and a W7 (both 10s) and it sounded really bad. When he had a single W7, it sounded awesome.

i dont think theres a better... ported - lower range, tad bit louder, can get muddy if theres too many subsequent bass drops (i dont think you'd notice it with a w7), sealed - tighter response, some say it sounds cleaner... that all depends on the speaker/listener... i went with sealed on my subs (not w7's) just because my musical taste is way too varied and the basslines all sound different, but i could still get the perfect tightness of a double bass roll on a hardcore song
