Clear Sound from Pioneer?
Ok..so i got my Pioneer Headunit Deh-3400 50x4 Watts.. and then I bought my $100 Front 3-way Pioneer speakers..but i'm not getting clear crisp sounds. The highs are not completely that high.and there seems to be little noise distortion. So in order to get clearer sounds..i have to have an AMP?! there's no other way that i could have better sounds or wat..
return those pioneer speakers get your self some components for the front. For the money i think some fosgate FNX's would do just nicely in there. I got older ones and they are pretty smooth. You wont get great sound from coaxials in the front. An amp will help, but with my old pioneer premier 5200 i didnt have an amp and it soundsed great!

many speakers for that price are available... go to a shop and listen to the speakers... the best speakers in the world are the ones you think sound best... not everyone's ears are the same nor ther taste in sound...
I have a Pioneer head unit and I ran into the same problem a while back. The head units power isn't that bad, it's just that you (and I) are a little more demanding of our headunits than the average Joe Shmoe. If you want quality, clear, loud sound,.....then you need to invest in an amp. Sorry, but there is no substitution for it.
all your sound comes from the speaker. power is power.
if you didnt like the sound, it wasnt the deck, it was the speakers.
if your tweets werent bright enuff, id look into getting a set of earthquake speakers. very crisp highs.

When I first got my infinity 6.5 speakers for the front, they had a lot of distortion in the highs. I was told that the only way this would go away is with am amp. Then I found out about dynamat. I had both doors done and the distortion is gone. They are only two-way speakers, but with a pioneer deck and dynamat they almost sound like you have an amp. That's because speakers mounted in door panels are subject to distortion.
You need an amp for whatever speakers your going to get. That 50 watt pioneer deck puts out maybe 25 from a chip the size of the enter key on your keyboard. If you get an amp on any of the speakers you will notice the biggest difference.
