Bass + CD Changer = Problem???

Ok, if I put an OEM CD Changer in the trunk will it skip? I have 2 12"s in there. Or should I mount it under the pass. seat and relocate the amp to under the drivers seat?

Thanx for the input.

why not put it under the drivers seat with the opening facing forward so you can just reach down and grab the changer cassette... and it all depends on how much bass youve got... how much are they charging you for the oem changer?

Mounting a cd changer under the drivers seat really isnt that hard.... you can do it te "reach your arm in there and mount the sucker down" way or you can just remove the seat and do it comfortably... either way its nothing all that complicated... the OEM changer should come with a cable that is made to reach the trunk, so reaching under the seat is no concern.

Ok, say I wanted to mount it under the seat, would I have to drill holes to mount it or how would it mount? I'm 10k miles away from my car so I can't go out and look. Another thing is will it hit somthing like a bump unter the seat if I slide it forward and mount it to the bottom of the seat? I'm gussing it should be mounted to the floor, right?

You can mount it by drilling hole and screwing it down.. using Velcro .. using some plumbing strap unser th carpet slice little holes and use Tie Wraps ..you have alot of options.. Generally when I mount amps under seats I just lift the carpet and hot glue some plumbing straps (sheetmetal strips with holes in the center) then use tie wraps..

Mo, you are the man! I just wish I knew what a plumbing straps looked like. Anyone have a pic? I'll probably be getting the oem and installing it under my seat. I'd go for the velcro but it doesn't really hold that well. I used velcro for the amp under my pass. seat and it doesn't hold that well. I just don't want someone to be able to just pull it out easily.

Any hardware store? Home Depot or Lowes should carry it, right? What's the price range?

Sorry for the 20 questions

I had my CD changer in my trunk two cars ago and it would skip if I turned the radio above 75% . It was a Kenwood CD changer and all I had in the trunk were were two cheap Urban audio subs in ported boxes (with a hundred watts to each). Putting it in the trunk sucked!!

I put my current CD changer under the drivers seat facing back, and it never has skipped. I just had to unscrew the seats and install. Just be carful because there are some lines running under the car in the area. Also, it is super simple to wire because you can just run the wiring through the center console.

Yeah, I think that's where it's going. I'm gonna remove my stock CD player and install the stock Cassette. That way It'll be both cassette and CD.

Thanx

EDIT: Now, if I could only figure out how to remove the carpet and install that ish!
