look what i found at circuit city! and it hits hard too, better than alpine type r. im converting to sealed!

yeah that's what you'd think right? but this isnt the old style coustic, and i listened to both subs same size in same box, coustic and type r, the coustic definately hits harder. plus i already have coustic amps so itd look better than the mtx subs i have.

I was at circuit city today and was listening to a few different subs, those coustics and the alpines came in to play...and it sounded to me that the alpines were louder and hit harder. they were 10's what size where the ones u listened to?

i listened to the 12"s

i looked up the ratings too and the 12"s coustic were rated close to the type r's 12"s. they're real close. only down side is 199 bucks per sub.

The Coustic subs may be louder...But I guarantee you in the proper encosures the type-R will have a much flatter and quicker response. I've heard a few coustic setups, all were pretty loud.. none sounded too good in the bass department..

make sure that the type R's u where listening too were sealed properly. I know that the citcuit city that my friend works att there are a lot of dumba$$ people that don't seal the sub right, BTW I get type R subs for $89 each
