In my opinion going with one brand is a bad mistake. companys are usually better at one thing and lack another.

pioneer make some good hu.
but underquality subs, speakers, and amps

lots of others companys do this as well
Fosgate- make decent amps but crappy hu's
Eclipse - great hu, subs, decent amps, but average speakers.

just go to different stores and check out what you like.

As long as it's a 6.5 it should fit. I took the stock mounts out and drilled 4 holes. Then I mounted the speakers with sheetmetal screws. Others mount the speakers to the stock mounts. I didn't feel like cutting the speaker out. It was easier to drill 4 holes if you ask me.

I would tend to agree with Subrage, since I have been somewhat disappointed when I was "brand-loyal" in the past.

However, I must say that for me, Pioneer has been a very good choice for me, both in my car and my home. I have the Pioneer 6400 head unit, which I really like; I then installed the Pioneer 1667 3-way speakers in my front doors, and I am quite happy with them, too. I have a Pioneer home theater setup that I really enjoy...maybe this is just a fluke, but I have been very happy with all of the Pioneer stuff I have bought...well, with the possible exception of the steering wheel remote I bought for the HU. It's either defective, or it's just not a very good remote...it's going back.
