Speaker combinations
Hey, what's up all, this is my first post...
I wanted to get your opinion on speaker combinations... I just bought my new deck, (Premier 740mp) and I really want to replace the factory speakers. My original idea was to change the front components and the rear 6x9s to a set of Infinitys, but so far people are telling me not to change the rear speakers. They say just to replace the front and get a couple of subs in the trunk, but I really don't want toooo much bass... and plus, I use my trunk a lot. What are your thoughts on a set of Infinitys (all 4 speakers, plus tweets) running off the HU at first, and maybe one day amped (when I get more money)? If I do this though, I'm worried about not having enough bass?? (I just don't know what I want... )
Has anyone replaced all their factory speakers without adding subs? Can you tell me how it sounds? That's really what I'm looking to do...
On a side note (even though this has already been answered in other posts), do you really have to bend the trunk springs in order to install the Infinity 6x9s because of their large magnet? There has to be another way, no?
Thanks in advance all,
Chris

If anyone wants those infinity Kappas, you can get them on ebay for really cheap. The 6.5" componenets cost about $160 and the 6x9"s are about $150.
BTW, the 6.5"s he mentioned are the coaxials, the components will sound cleaner.

I would just do like you've been hearing. Change out ur front speakers and amp em. You'll more than likely get cleaner sound out of componets IMO. As far as in the rear it all depends on what amout of bass youre looking for.
The problem isn't that you won't get enough bass without subs.. the problem is that you won't get bass without subs. That's what subs do. You'll get the best sound out of components because the have a separate crossover.. not just a cap on the back of the speaker.
