Crunch Subs?
I found these Crunch 15 on Ebay. They are 15" Crunch DS-15FAT. It's $45 each and if I buy the box here Box for $19 I get it wired and shipped to me for free. Thats $64 total.
What are your opinions on these subs? Will the box work with the sub?
I know many of you, me included, would rather buy something better than this setup but please realize I do not have the cash for a better system. I also plan on buying a cheapo amp and wiring kit off of ebay so I guess my budget for all this would be for around less than $200. Sounds crazy and stupid but hey, I cant stand the stock system. Thanks for listening.

nothing wrong with it, its all install dependant. prolly got itself a bad name since its so cheap, that everyone bought them, put them in junk installs, and blew them.
if your looking for something basic that will get loud, i guarantee you it can do it, in the right install.
as far as being able to accurately represent music, ill repeat that you get what you pay for, and that it might not be as accurate as you want, but if you are looking to get some noise in yoru civic, they will do the job.
basic rule of thhumb is, more expensive it is, the better it is. but most like;ly thats cause if you drop $800 on a woofer, your most likely gonna take your time to ensure it sounds good.
unlike the majority of ppl who buy these ones.
if a billion ppl bought the IDmax, installed it poorly, and ble wit, the IDmax would get a bad rap too. anyone know that when the brahma was first introduced, one of the first people who bought it to bench it, blew it with 1000 watts, tho its power handling was WELL over that amount. automatic bad rap, it took a whole lot of explanations, excuses, good publicity and several other bench tests to restore its reputation as a competitior with the w7.
if you dont have teh funds to kick back on high quality woofers, you can make more inexpensive woofers sound decent and get loud as well. 90% install, 10% equipment.
the nspl world champion took $89 subs and intalled them to hit 155. I have taken 4 kenwood circuit city woofers and hit 140.7 in a volvo.
not everyone wants to spend $600 on JUST subwoofers, thats more than some peoples overall audio budget!

Thanks for the info, it was really useful. So if I build a box to the manufacturers specifications I can get the most out of these subs? Theres probably many more technical things that will affect the performance but I just want to be sure about the enclosure its going to go in. Thanks for your help guys.
