Recommended Subs..
I want a high SQ, and a decent to high SPL.
What subs and amps would you recommend... I was planning on running 2 10" subs, but I am looking for a good company to go with...

Onlinecarstereo.com has infinty perfect 10.1s on sale for $169 (infact they have all of their Infinity subs on sale). I bought two and I got it the next day! Could be because I live less then ten miles from where they are located at =).
I went to stores for weeks and listened to the display subs before i made my decision. This is a good way to see what you like, however many subs at stores are not enclosed properly so they may sound bad. One of my favorites was the JL 10w6 v2, but it costs a ton and everyone has JLs (which is actuall a good sign).

single eclipise Ti 12
single 12, the surround literally turns it into an 8 with HUGE excursion capabilities. the accuracy of the driver is insane, and the huge power handling insures that you can feed it enough power to get LOUD.

i wasnt always an eclipse fan (exept for the Ti, which i fell in love with a year after i started my hobby) till I heard an 86100.4 (the most entry level woofer eclipse makes) with 100 watts in an extended cab truck.
jesus christ! you would think you have a mid level 12 in there. so low, so loud. I cant BELIEVE the response from them. the 12's only play louder and lower, but be sure to put them in a larger box.
if you want a woofer you can put in a PREFAB box and sound GOOD, can you buy JL? nope. rockford? nope. infinity? maybe....... adire? nope.
eclipse? sound so mother****ing good in a prefab sealed box i want to crap my pants.
and with a list price of only $130 each, you are looking at $430 plus tax TOTAL at RETAIL pricing for a pair of tens and a box, which is a KILLER deal for the output and range you get, especially with retail and entrylevel equipment.
online prices you just save more and more money.

If you ever just wanted loud with fair accurace the Eclipse 8700 series are INSANE.. I ran 2 15's each in 3.5cu.ft porter 30sq.in port tuned to 18hz (inside the enclosure looked like a maze the port was some 38" long) with a whopping 600Wrms I broke 150 at 20hz outlaw 146.2 off the dash..
I also dropped one in a Pre-fab ported enclosure tuned to 45 HZ...no meter available but it caused my cars dash to rattle untill I tightened all the screws back (hyundai Sonata) I Love eclipse subs...but here in Canada the distributor and service is horrible to say the least.. after 8 months my dads still waiting for his 88120.4 which was sent to the distributor for repairs...(surround failure) We call them.. the "technician" hasn't had a chance to look at it yet.
