Yes you do need a dash kit. I installed my HU the other day and I got a dash kit from my local car audio store for 15 bucks. It makes the installation a lot easier. I have some pics if you want to see them. Also check out the DIY.

Yes, Normally I wouldn't say go to BB but for this, go to BB and ASK for the American International kit back in install.. it fits the best IMO.

what about the wiring harness. All ive seen is one for 98-up hondas, do we just use that and connect it to the cd player?

you really don't need a mounting kit, it just looks better

you don't need the kit, save your money... I have 2 head units an eclipse and now a clarion and both screw in with the factory screws. And it installs flush. The kits make the unit stick out and it looks getto. Later....

dont you have huge gaps around your head-units because of the curves in the rest of the dash? it looks that way atleast.... IMO it just doesn't look flushed and clean

No i don't have gaps, and it does install flush. Head units come with a trim ring that goes around them. It looks fine, trust me.

hmm, I'm going to take your word for it and actually try it...

thanks a bunch

-------------

Tried it and it just didn't look good... I lost the spaces and what not for the head units, so it looks way ugly.
