INSTALLING AN HU

Hey everyone, i got the DIY for removing the factory HU but there isnt one for installing a new one i was wondering how hard it was and if anyone could give me picture by picture of how to do it, thanks.

you pop in the new HU, secure it however you feel necessary..i use bolts, but thats just because i didn't want it to get jacked. then basically get yourself a wiring harness and play match the colored wires.

yah not real descriptive but its really easy.

I took the easy way out here - and it actually looks pretty good. I kept the stock radio in place, and wired a harness for my new head unit. I mounted it where the pocket is - right below the stock head unit. I tried using one of those Metra install kits - and it didn't really work for me. I have a Sony M770, and the face folds down to a horizontal position. Since the radio mounting hole is on an angle (the entire radio/heater control/vent array is about 20° from vertical), I couldn't really see the buttons and display when the head unit was installed. By mounting it in that hole, it puts the new head unit lower, making the buttons more readable and reachable.

Like I said in my post from another thread, I'm going to post some pics of my entire system, probably today...

thanks for the replies guys. i'll just pop up to one of the local I.C.E. shops up here and grab a wiring harness and be on my way, sounds simple enough. thanks for the tips

on my HU I had to drill 2 new holes in the stock bracket, but that was it.
