lost clips when installing head unit

well I was careful and thought I had not lost any of the clips when I installed my head unit, but when I reinstalled the panel that holds the power outlet there was only 4 clips and it looked like ther was positions to use 6 clips but I looked everywhere and they were just not there, does it only have 4 clips or did they just evapotate? 4 one on each corner seems to be enough especially since it also has 2 screws, but I was just curious

well.. if you really need to get new clips.. try to find them somewhere else besides the dealership.

they charged me a $1.06 CDN for EACH clip.

the panel w/ the Lighter Socket only has 4 clips, if i remember correctly. but if you ever loose any of those, you can order them from Majestic Honda...they are real cheap there, and i just ordered like 6 extra ones so if i ever lose any i've got replacements.

I purchased a Pioneer 4400 this week from BB, and I am going to do the install over the holiday. I have looked at the DIY here for removing the headunit, and I noticed that the instructions included removing the center console to get at two screws at the base of the 12V power supply panel. The instructions I got from both Crutchfield and handa-accessories for removing the head unit don't mention this step - their directions begin with prying out the clips on the 12V power supply panel and going from there.

Has anyone done an installation without loosening the center console? Thanks for your input.

A couple of my clips fell down into the dash a few times, i ended up taking the whole center console and not finding them. Then, when I was working on the console again i found them. It will still hold pretty well without 1 or 2 of them.
