Do I need that plastic sheet in door panel?

I opened up my front door panel today to add Brown Bread, do I need to replace that white plastic sheet that hangs across everthing? What is that sheet for and is it necessary?

you do need that. it keeps the moisture from inside the door from messing up your door panel.

I cut my plastic sheets up pretty good when I did my Raamat install. I put the plastic over the big opening on the lower portion of the door. Haven't had any trouble yet, although my car is usually garaged.
