Is it ok if I.....

I have a RF 800.2 amp that I'm using to power my 2 he2 10" subs. The subs came already wired in the box with 12 guage wire connecting the actual sub terminals to the speaker wire inputs on the back of the box. Is it ok if I use 12 guage wire to go from my amp to the terminals on the back of the box since it is only like 1.5 feet of wire. I don't really feel like buying a whole thing of wire for just 1.5 feet. ( I hope you can understand this post

P.S. If It's not ok, then what guage wire should I get?

Aaron

I usually use 10 gauge when connecting subs, but 12 will be sufficient.

Well the bigger the better but I use the Monster cable that has the plastic sheath around the two wires its 12 gauge . but the only thing that sucks is that it is hard to work with since it is so stiff and its 3 dollars a foot so it puts a dent in your pocket . the only thing I noticed is that if you run thicker wire without a cap this includes your power cable being 8 gauge or better it makes the lights flicker less when you bridge the subs
