I'm relatively happy with the stock speakers, i also have a really small JL 8w3 to add a little bass. I think they are good stock speakers, but i want a little more from the highs now that i've had them a while. I'll probably get some coaxials or compnents soon .

Good is one thing.. loud is another.. sound deaden the licing he!! outta your car.. cuts down on externall bass alot.. increses SPL and quality of bass inside...not to mention hugely improves midbass from your front speakers and reduces midrange distortion...

I used to be into the big bass setups in my past cars, and even this one. I have two image dynamic subs that I just sold. My brain hurts from all the bass, and I dont keep it up much. I like to turn heads just by the looks of my car, now from what the sound that comes out of it

I am very happy with the factory speakers. I can clearly hear them over the bass of my subs and they sound very good.

I tested the stock sound system setup when I used to work at a loudspeaker company. We had LMS (louspeaker measurement software) installed on a notebook computer and a measurement mic. The results were TERRIBLE. Huge 6db peak at around 1Khz, pretty bad rolloff above 12Khz, and transient bass response was loud but lousy. You will not realize how crappy the stock system is until you install a new system in your car. Take one look at the woofers they used in the doors and you'll know what I mean - absolute garbage.

lol, we got a similar crap response while testing out a mustang stock deck with an osciliscope. clipping of midbass frequencies at EXTREMELY low volume levels, dirty signal well into the midrange frequencies hehe. but come on! its stock!
