Kenwood Headunit's
all i can do is tell you the general pros and cons of all kenwood decks.
pro:
fantastic cd player
great skip protection
fast cd reading
accurate reading
basically everything to do with the actual cd-reader
con:
everything else.
curcuitry is a joke
far ovverrated as far as deck power
preouts have been known to fail
preouts have never tested to the voltage they are rated for.
you just bought yourself a kick a s s cd player, but be on the up and up as far as its shortcomings, youll be more than happy with this deck.
hey, at least its not a sony, skipping everytime teh bass hits

WhiteRabbit, have there been many reports about these failures? I just got my Scosche installation kit from SoundDomain, and I was pondering to myself: should I put in the year-old Aiwa CDC-X517M from my previous car, or should I go out and buy the Kenwood 2017? I had not heard about the problems that you mentioned, and now I am having second thoughts about the Kenwood. The Aiwa, despite its somewhat gaudy appearance, never skipped once in my crappy old Sentra.
