Got new tweets install0red in the 'vic today!
I bought some Pioneer TS-T110 tweeters Saturday at a local shop called Car Tunes and got 'em installed today. Looking good and sounding great! I already put some Kenwoods in the doors and rear deck (noisy f*ker, ain't it!?), so I thought I could use some front treble. I found the perfect size hole-saw and mounted them in front of the door handle. I think they actually look stock. I had wanted to get a set of the factory tweeters for the mirror cover, but with a DX, i have that annoying joystick for the mirrors...and it would've been a beeeotch to cut it off...so I went the hack and cut route on the door panel. hehe.
Anyway, thought I'd share the results:

Very nice but I hope they don't get damaged by the rain. You can go to a local stereo shop, buy some acoustic speaker fabric, spray it with a water repellent and cover your tweets w/ it.
Very clean install, you must have big b@llz to cut into your doors like that! BTW, do ou use Armor All? Looks sort of oily in there, might want to try meguiers, good stuff and it doesnt seem to leave that excessivly oily residue.

philliesblunt420: As i mentioned above, I installed them myself with a hole saw. So, I don't have any money in them, other than the price of the tweeters.
DrJEKYLL007: I know it looks a bit oily, but that actually IS Meguiars' Natural Shine Vinyl & Rubber Protectant! I guess the flash just made it look wetter than it actually is.
Thanks to all for the kind comments. And to my fellow DX owners, you should DEFINATELY look into getting a set of these!

draganjr, they would get hooked up either to a crossover which would then be wired to your HU or an amp, or you could wire them directly to the front speaker outs on your HU, but then you would want to use a bass blocker or something similar to keep them from blowing.

Just took a couple new pics.
Draganjr, I wired the tweeters in parallel with the existing door speaker wires.

i dont have an amp in the car!
Bellz - i have the same tweeters - so i dont need bass blockers right?!?
so i can hook up the tweeters straight to the speaker wire in the door that go to the door speakers?
i plan on getting pioneer 4 ways for the front and 3 ways for the rear, would i need bass blockers for them? all running off the factory HU?!
Thanks

Yes, I hooked mine straight to the wires in the door for the stock speakers and I've had no problems.
I wouldn't put blockers on the door or rear deck speakers unless you have a sub in the trunk. If you have a sub, you can block the bass on the front speakers because you don't need them to reproduce bass. If you don't have a sub, I would not put blockers on there. If you do, you'll have no bass at all.
sweet, thank you very much.
Bellz two more question - would you recommand Foam Baffles, for the front and rear speakers?
also i am going to install pioneer speakers in the door and the depth is 2 1/4 i think, were can i get spacers?

Mounting specs for the coupe: The front doors have 6.5" speakers with 2 inches of depth. On the rear 6x9's, you have 3- 7/16" depth, and the top mounting height is 7/16".
If you stay well within these specs, you shouldn't have a problem mounting your speakers. You can also make or buy some adapter plates to mount 6.5" speakers in the back instead of the 6x9s.
Here's the ones I made:

You can get spacers at SoundDomain.com for $8.95. You can get baffles at Crutchfield for $7.99 and $8.99.
