re: subwoofers [solved]

I didn’t even realize they made subwoofers that large. The 12’s I had in my old car were more than enough. I’ll see if I have photos but I doubt it.

You need to upgrade from that? Not trying to be critical, just confused.

re: subwoofers [solved]

I used to have 2 12" in my car. Got tired of not having a truck and downgraded to a single 10", that was enough for me at the time. I then got tired of pulling it out for every autocross so I just left it out. That was like 4 years ago, guess I'm getting older

re: subwoofers [solved]

I'm not looking for quiet here. I want the roof to cave in.

All wired up now.

Pro tip. Upgrade all wires off your battery to avoid melted grounds

Here's the old set up. I guess I don't have any images of the new one

re: subwoofers [solved]

Oh Jeebus. Would be cool to see the new setup as well

What size wiring you got there? Running a single cable up to the battery that then splits between the amps? Still stock battery and alternator size?

re: subwoofers [solved]

crazy how just forgot about this.
I was running all 2 gauge wire, should have been 0 but I did what I could. it was so loud and shook the car so much you couldn't feel the gas pedal below your foot. it was crazy.

the 18 was really cool, but not at all practical. to get it in the car I had to build the box in the car, then mpunt the subwoofer in the face plate and slide it on top, then put the last side of the box on. it looked cool but there wasn't enough air flow in that tiny trunk so it just suffocated it. I ended up putting it in my blazer, where it stayed for a year before I toasted the 9k watt amp. and those aren't cheap so I just sold the speaker.
