Ok i have my amp screwed to my box , it gets hot and i dont want to set the trunk on fire or nothing..where is another place that i can put the amp so that it will be safe to operate......back of seat ...what are some options or tips for amp placement especially if it warms up pretty good

It's safe where it is.. most amps get fairly warm when under heavy loads.
Rockford Fosgate amps seem to get downright toasty, as do Cerwin Vega amps...Unless you can fry an egg on it don't worry.
Cheers

If it's getting that hot, I'd be willing to make a bet that you have your subs wired improperly and getting too low of an ohm load. If the amp puts out more than 400Wrms a little dimming is to be expected when you crank it.
Which amp do you have specifically. and which subs?

And you have the amp bridged for more power right?...
If so. Your running a 20hm mono load on a 4phm mono stable amp.. not good.
If you have wires in 2 channel. some of the amps transistors may be friend and your amps running as a pure class A amp. Not good either...
Check the wiring . If it's bridged. Wire it in 2 channel. 1 sub to eac channel. You'll lose a little power..but you won't be driving a firehazard.

Bazooka makes an amp called el1500, it pushes 500watts @ 2ohms. It only costs $189. I have one on a jl 15 w6, and it kicks assthere is a pic of it in my profile. jbl makes a good mono amp too, it costs a little more, but it is awesome.
