Depends, I want 2-3 12"s Doesnt matter on wattage prolly like to stay in the affordable range on my amp so id say around 5-600w a sub and about a 1200w amp whatever system you think will give me a deep sounding bass, also i am hoping to custom my trunk to look exactly like www.mugensi00.com trunk.. just click on system and it will have pictures of the trunk (they are further back on like page 8-12) he has 2 JL W7's...

In that case..best sound and SPL within reasonable prices.. a JBL1200.1 and 2 IDMAX DVC 2ohm subs.. $1100 for that setup and high SPL, deep bass..and it'll be about the best sounding you can get for anywhere close to that price..

haha jeez! for that money and that exact setup, your looking at (i think) 4ish cubes sealed but dont qoute me on that one. (no matter what air, your gonna want a Qtc of around .68 or .7, sealed) As for everything else, youll be easily in teh 140's on the dash, with a FLAT response, and some killer low end extension. a good reccomendation for your app!

only thing i would be concerned with is that the IDmax can take up to and over 900 watts, so it would be real easy to turn it up to distortion levels and kill the speakers. nothing wrong with this setup, sounds perfect for yoru application! just be smart when your setting the gains....

and at 1.5 cubes in car the QTC> will be about .73-.75 which is still quite good.

actually, if he listens to mostly r&b and rap, then a low Qtc is in order. thats why in my buddy's mustang we put teh shiva in 2.4 cubes instead of 2.2-2.3 (perfect Qtc) cause he ONLY listened to hiphop.

if 1.5 cubes is .75ish QTC, i would HIGHLY reccomend installing in a 4 cube box before displacement. (unless 3.8 cubes models up to be .7 or higher) i dun think thatll be a problem.

but yeah, thats why im saying best to put in a large sealed box.

as for techno, i find that midbass does most of the duty, so a larginsh sealed box is in order for techno as well. If he listened to EXCLUSIVELY techno, i dunno, id have to think about it (techno has such a freaking wide range of music types) but for hiphop/r&b/techno/trance/club/that dog over there, i think 4 pre-deisplacement sealed would be IDEAL.

hey, just cause i agree with you doenst mean i gotta agree with you 100%, righty? ...
