Starter working intermittently

Hey guys, I have a 2005 civic lx manual sedan. One day a couple months ago I went to start my car and all I heard was the solenoid clicking under the hood. Then I had to push start my car myself Now everynow and then when I let the car sit for a day it does the same the. The only way to get the starter to work is to disconnect the battery. The battery seems fairly new, I cleaned the terminals, and it still does this. Any info would be a great help.
