05 SI electrical problems

I was putting in an aftermarket stereo and needed to cut and re-attach the stereo wire harness to be able to work with it. When I put everything back in, not only was the stereo not working but theres been a list of other problems.

Dome light wont doesn't turn on for door opening (will turn on if you click it)
Blinkers don't work (but will come on with emergency lights)
My key fob sopped working

Even if I didn't rewire everything for the stereo back properly, I don't understand how it affects all these other things. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: 05 SI electrical problems

Start looking for blown fuses, check BOTH fuse boxes.

IF you connected the the 'illumination' circuits to the new radio, you probably should pull it back out and disconnect them. Most aftermarket radios are not compatible with the dash lighting control method the cars have, and you can do damage to the car if you turn on the lights with it hooked up.

because "other things" can be on the same circuit as the wires you are chopping, and when you chopped those wires you probably blew a fuse or two,
