DEH-P9300 and 2 10" Infinity Perfects??
Okay I've made my decision to go with the DEH-P9300 H/U and afterward I'm thinking about getting 2 10" subs.. Now I'm really going for Sound Quality.. with some bumb but not too much.. I was thinking of the Infinity Perfects? Any suggestions ? and any suggestions on what amp I should get?
infinities will need some power to get thim going.... look for above 600 watts, but as teh 12's take about 1200-1400, i dont know about teh thermal capabilities of the 10's (the motor structure of 10's vs 12's are generally identical) but i would probbaly cap it at 1000 watts. just use yoru best judgement.
your gona want an amp that will put out rated power at 2 ohms, so like 800 ish watts or so.....
just gotta do some hunting, is all.

cant take much power. just like all teh SQ competitors out there who run teh pair of 12's with 600 a piece offa jbl1200.1.....
magnest for 10's vs 12's are almost the same. im not gonna say that the 10's can handle 600 watts. id be VERY surprised if they could (very) but cutting teh thermal handling in half? c'mon.....

Rabbit.. most SQ competitors only run that much power to have headroom to avoid any distortion or system noise.. Most don't tuen their systems up enough so tha amps will even put out 150Wrms.. Infinity perfects can and will blow with 500Wrms to one..specially if ported...the can handle a 500Wrms amp no problem as long as your not blasting your system to the max...
But for Flips question..There's better subs for just SQ and a little bump..like a pair of Image Dynamics IDQ V.2's better sound quality.. little less potential bumping power..but a pair of 12's will rattle your car quite good anyhow..
Cheers

so your saying he should leave any headroom for no noise/distortion?
just put a shiva in a mustang. 500 watt amp, the gain is almost zero. i cant believe the sound quality for what he bought. as far as teh bump, well, its got plenty of that, much more than he wanted.....
are you trying to tell flip that headroom is bad?
if you want good sound quality and good bump when you need it....the infinity perfect 12's are a good choice..if you have the extra dough to shell out for the 12's instead of the 10's ....i have the pioneer premier 940mp with two perfect 12's running off the JBL 1200.1 and it slams like a mother ....and i also have infinity components for the front and rear running of the JBL 80.4....no complaints....

Headroom is very good..but most people will crank it too see how loud it will go no matter what..then too much headroom is bad because you'll massively overpower the subs and strain the suspension if not completely blow the sub... for most people a little headrooms fine..but to run more than double what the sub can handle...not really unless you have alot of controll not to crank it..then go for as much power as you please..just don;t use it all ..

so now your saying flip will have no self control?

we are WAY overpowering that shiva. but we kept teh gains down, and oscilliscope tuned the stereo so there was ZERO clipping. it sounds unbelieveable.
if anyone ever gets a changce to play with an o-scope i highly reccommend tuning your stereo with it.

Well you can have Zero Clipping and over 1000Wrms with some of the amps out there today.. Clipping is one thing..power is another.. run 1000 unclipped watts to a JL 10W0 and see what happens..

See thats the thing... Its like I really want my system to sound good! But Bump when it needs to! I don't want to go with 12's just 10's(moneys kinda short lately) And I've asked numerous people about quality Subs and they've told me everything from Image Dynamics to Infinity Perfects to Memphis?? What do you guys recommend for a price $200 or less?
