Power Window Switch / Electrical Fire; Transformer Melted?
Hey guys everything has been fine regarding the power window switch on my driver side, no issues. I can recall a few times rain getting on the buttons but i always made honest attempts to wipe it off (smoker).
It hasnt rained in days so this switch should of been dry with the hot humid weather we've been having. I started to smell something like a marker or burnt plastic and i thought it was outside, until smoke started spewing out from the buttons filling my car up with some toxic $h!t.
I have pictures of the power window switch unit and pulled it apart and can see the melted parts. There doesnt appear to be any damage to the source cable that connects to the assembly so is this just a simple pop and swap ? or have some of my wires from that source cable burnt out, causing the board to in turn burn out?

Upon inspection and inability to DIY from the several suggestions i was given. The window is still down.
Im copying and pasting the texts as they were sent to me because i will admit im a noob compared to others but im not an idiot by any means. I just think it made it a litter harder
*********
Start
"If you could jump the window regulator at its harness....if you poke two paper clips in the harness qnd apply ground and power it should go up...."
"If you take jumper cables hooked to your car battery put paper clips in the two wire harness of the motor the window should go up or down. ...if it goes down switch the clips"
END
**********
How can i do that ? or does anyone else have any suggestions ? Im
pissed right now and really could use some suggestions.
Ps. im also going to see if i still have any extended warranty left as i purchased a package but forget the length and end date. I will also look into if i can report to insurance company and get assistance or maybe this is a honda recall ?
Any Help is appreciated. And if there is any format i didnt follow for posting i apologize as im in a rush to get my window back up.

If you can't figure out how to apply power and ground to the power window motor to get it rolled up, then simply tape a trash bag over the hole for now.
Then.....
Buy another window switch.
At this point in time, 7th gen Civics are not covered under any window switch recall (USA).
You can report the problem to Hondas Customer Assistance Hotline....
Be courteous, see if they will do anything for you (don't hold your breath though, you are WAY past the warranty period).
And report it to the NHTSA. https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/

Obviously its been trash bagged already lol, but is there any link to show me where to apply the power. I know where the motor is, i know its the the bolted part at the bottom right section of the door and i see the cables going into it. Is there some sort of walk through guide ?
thanks for the other suggestions, what i meant is when i bought my car 3-4 years ago (cant remember exact date) i bought a 4 year gold warranty package so i wasnt stuck with a lemon and boyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy did it pay off. Besides struts and a few other things that died ive had two transmissions put into it as well. They put a used one in and that fn died and they put a new one in. I know they were sickkkkkkkkk about putting a new tranny in an 01 lol but they had too.
There might be some time left on it is what i meant so i will call them today when buisness hours hit. Until then like i said is there some guide that will walk me through how to apply power to that motor ? I also have battery chargers with low amp and high amp charging, should i use those instead of my car battery ? I can handle some beginner to intermediate diy, i just couldn't find a solution nor did i have the right name for parts or knew the location of the parts.

find the 2 wires that go from your window motor into that plug. your going to remove the wire loom in the door to do so. then do a search on google to find out what one is pos and neg then you can go from there

Your plug looks great. Grab the switch ( they likely have it in stock as theses things do tend to self destruct) and it could not get easier to get the window up.
If you must apply voltage do it at the disconnected 2 pin plug in the door leading to the motor. (I would just get the switch)

Get the switch from a junkyard. The price of an actual new switch is obnoxious. As for jumping the motor-run a wire from the + on the battery to one of the pins on the window motor. Run a wire from the - on the batter to the other pin. If it doesn't go up, swap which wire is going to which pin. That should make it go up.

Looks like the passenger side switch at fault.
Online price new is $75.... our parts department will often match online prices (or very close) and without the pricey S&H charges.

Wut. That is definitely the driver (master) switch that is all melted. $70 for a switch still seems kind of crazy but I guess if you're uptight about that stuff go for it. Or junkyards have used ones for $30.
