help with ohms

I have been on crutchfields website looking for a pair of subs. I see 8 ohms, 4 ohms, & 2 ohms. I saw a post on this site that said something like two 4 ohms subs in parallel = 2 ohms. So would two 8 ohms subs setup the same way = 4ohms? I would like to do the custom trunk setup I saw on this msg board but I would like to use 10's instead of 12's. so should I look for two 4ohm subs or two 2 ohm subs? One more thing I should use a mono amp with those right?

there's you should use... It all depends on the amp you have. If the amp is 2ohm mono stable.. then 2 SVC 4ohm subs wired in paralell would be good. If you get an amp that's 4phm mono stable. when 2 DVC 4phm subs or 2 8phm subs would do it..

go to JL's site Click on tuturials..they have a HUGE listing of different sub wiring options and pictograms.

mohawkboom what do you think about kenwood head units? I am looking at 2 that they make.

kenwood kdc319

kenwood kdc419

i almost got the 319 today. Then i thought let me go home and ask the people from the group. Keep in mind I dont have a whole lot of money. So a head unit in the 200 range is about as high as I can go. Thanks for your help everyone
