Tint Shop removed defrost lines, which are antenna?
Tint Shop removed defrost lines, which are antenna?
I bought a nice 03 Civic EX this summer and the only thing wrong with it was ugly bubbled tinting in the rear window. I took it to a window tinting shop (recommended by someone we know) to have it removed and the guy said he couldn't guarantee he'd be able to save the defrost lines (no one can, but I figured he'd do a better job than me). Anyway the tint was so brittle it came off in two layers and tiny little pieces...it was a lost cause and he eventually just had to scrape off the lines.
What I'm wondering is, which lines are my antenna lines? He tried to leave the top two lines alone, thinking those were my antenna lines, but I'm not sure they didn't get messed up a little too. I know there is repair paint for such a thing, but would an alternative antennae be better?
Also is there any way to reapply (with success...) my defroster?

The top 2 are the antenna. The ones in the textured part.
To check if they're good: With the ignition OFF test for continuity (ohms) from the connector on the side to the other side of the line. If it doesn't have continuity then move the probe back until it does show continuity and that's where the break is.
To re-apply: Tape off the lines you're re-applying and re-apply according to the instructions on the package.
You're looking for conductive paint. Just ask the guys at the parts store, they'll know what you're talking about.

Hmm I always wondered what to do if your defroster was completely screwed, and there was no way to repair it. They sell kits I am sure?

I Have never heard of a tint shop not being able to save the defroster lines. All u need to do is to steam up the tint and it comes off with ease
That tint shop has got to be the most idiotic shop ever. I've gotten my rears done and redone TWICE.
If they ruined it make sure u make them pay for it
