Re: Rear speakers!
it really depends on the mounting depth, assuming you want to keep your OEM trunk springs. If you don't care about having a heavy *** trunk, then feel free to go nuts with the rear speakers. If all else fails, you can go with a trunk shock mod

RMS Power Handling: 70W
Peak power handling: 140W
Frequency response: 30-21,000 Hz
Kicker 07DS6930 6x9 70W RMS DS Series 3 Way Car Speaker
will this be ok to put in without blowing something up

Re: Rear speakers!
hey man, i got a set of pioneer 3-ways that are 1/16" taller in mounting depth (the pioneers i have are 3 1/4" mounting depth) than yours and mine hit the stupid trunk tension rods, so maybe that 1/16" for you might be just enough room for you to avoid the rods, you never know. I have an 03 coupe so maybe the cars would vary but i doubt by much
good luck! takin the back speaker panel off is a B****, though!!

Re: Rear speakers!
I didn't fix it, I just left them making contact with the rods, I think once the weather gets warmer and I have some free time I'll take it apart and install the spacers but for now i dont mind...
Re: Rear speakers!
Good luck. Your going to have to cut bigger holes and all of that too though, the biggest you can fit in is 6.5" without serious mods. I brought home a set of kenwood 6x9's, got it all apart and realized there was no way that they were going to fit and if you did manage to get them in, it didnt look like the plastic would go back on over it. Too much work if you ask me, I'd just get the proper speakers, 6.5"s fit right in.
