Weird Radio Problem- No Reception

Hello everyone, I recently(10-10-11) just sold my 2007 Honda Civic EX Sedan and bought a 2001 Honda Civic LX Coupe that required a few DIY Issues, so I thought I would join the site for some help. However I ran into a weird issue regarding my regular radio and its reception. It is correct to say that the 01' models have built in antenna's in the rear area of the car right? Well the previous and only owner of the car had XM Sirus Radio installed back in 05', so there is now a sirus antenna on the front of the car right above the front windshield.
Well I do not listen to Sirus radio just Regular FM, so I tried turning it to regular FM and AM stations and there are NO Channels, but one that barely is clear at all. This is not normal because I live in town and none of my other cars including friends and family have had issues with radio stations. So I decided to change out the stereo because the one in there previous (Pioneer DEH-3700?) did not have AUXillary input for my ipod and phone(which is my primary use). I installed the new stereo(Pioneer DEH-1300) with no issues making sure every wire is wired correctly, and still no receiption. I am experienced in installing stereo's, but have not ran into this issue.
The antenna cord for the factory antenna was plugged in the stereo and still no reception. There was a XM tuner box in there and I tried keeping it plugged in to see if the regular radio would pick up any signal, but no. Does anyone have any idea what could be the issue? I called the seller of the civic and asked if he knew anything about it and he said no, so I have no idea what it could be. Could the installer have disconnected the factory antenna from the back? If so where is the factory antenna located? Is there a way I could Convert the Sirus Antenna into one that would fit/work as a antenna for the regular radio input? I would really like my FM back without having to dish out alot of money which I did for a Keyless entry system, also with which I am having issues. Thank you for any help!

Re: Weird Radio Problem- No Reception

Hi, thank you for your replies! May I ask where I can find the amp at? is there a How To for this kind of fix? I think they might have unplugged the regular antenna when they installed the sirus one. I looked in the trunk of the car but did not see anything that looked like a amp, do I have to take of the plastic behind the rear seats or is it in the front part of the car? Also I do not see any wires going up the window, so does that mean they took it out? Haha I do not even know where the factory antenna would be located in the first place I just figured the back.

Re: Weird Radio Problem- No Reception

Just wanted to post that the issue has been resolved. Found out, after removing the rear left panel, Found the antenna wiring that plugs into the power amp( which is in the rear) was unplugged. Plugged it up and now I hear all the stations I should Reception is Amazing now, so I conclude that it was the issue. I am thankful it was not anything major. As far as your question goes Eazy I am unsure. The power amp is in the left rear panel(for me atleast, LX Model 01'), so I would start there. Other wise I am clueless because I did not have any extra wiring left over except for a extra ground wire which I taped off. Hope this helps!
