Re: hard start
my car also starts hard and it sounds like the OP's storry. i really hope someone can suggest what the issue is. so far my car will always make the turning over ignition sound. but this scares me how the OP's car will not utrnover for soo long, and my ignition seems to be getting worse.
-battery is good does not dye if left running after the ignition is off.
-plugs are always new
-the ignition turns over and sounds normal.
how do you know if a starter needs to be replaced?
my only other thought is that it's something in the fuel delivery side of things since if i turn the key to on twice, priming the lines, the car seems to start in 2 cranks of the ignition or if i've been running the car then stop for a for a few minutes it will start in 1 or 2 turns. but if i just try to start it after it's been sitting for a night. it will turn over forever and not start, then after i turn the key to off and try again it will start in 1 or 2 ignition turns.

Re: hard start
1. go get a ground kit. that'll help. check electric's big 3 i the FS section.
2. when you did ur spark plugs, did you properly gap them or did you just throw them in?
3. what is the cold CCA and CCA of ur battery? if u have a crappy/low CCA then it harder to deliver that power to ur engine
4. also check if ur terminals are all corroded.
